Week 29

I hope everyone had a great break. Hopefully we are rested and ready to finish up this school year.

We will be starting our last book of the year. Can you believe that??? The first story is called "The Story of a Bluebird." It is a fiction story about a little bird who is afraid to fly. The phonics focus for this story is long i made by igh. The new vocabulary words are:
afraid
flew
join
learn
nothing
thought
wonder

Questions of the Week:
Monday - Tell me three things you did over spring break?
Tuesday - What season came while we were on break? What is going to happen in this season?
Wednesday - It is National Goof Off Day. Tell me 5 things you like to do for fun.
Thursday - List 4 ways we can communicate with people who live far away.
Friday - List 5 words that have the long i sound made by 'igh'.

In math we will be continuing our geometry section, with more polygons and naming 3 dimensional shapes. We will also review counting money.

AR continues to roll. I hope we didn't lose the enthusiasm over break. We are becoming so much better readers because we are reading more. It is just amazing to see the growth in reading fluency.

Our music program will be on April 8th at 1:30 in the cafeteria. You might want to put this on your calendar.

If things go as planned, we will be walking to the Forest Service to look at the mural on April 21st. If anyone can go with us, let me know. We will go after lunch. This is a tentative plan at this point.

Have a great week!!
